Summer Bucket List

Summer Bucket List

I hope everyone enjoyed the first day of summer on Saturday! Summer and fall are my favorite two seasons and summer in California is a real treat. In D.C., I would look forward to the arrival of Memorial Day and the start of summer, but the summer heat and humidity would sometimes prevent me from wanting to attending outdoor events. Not to mention what it would do to my hair! Here in northern California, we are so fortunate to have dry heat and cooler summer nights so you can really take advantage of these beautiful summer days. And hey if you don’t live here, now is the perfect season to plan a trip!

When I was little, as did most kids, I couldn’t wait for the last week of school. We would then be free for the summer to stay up late, catch summer flicks, play at the pool ALL DAY long, and enjoy lawn games at night. I loved eating dinner outside and playing with neighborhood friends until we were exhausted and ready for bed.

Even though I am older and don’t spend all summer at the pool anymore, I think it is still important to plan fun summer activities. There are many great summer street festivals, events, and summer concerts that I really try to attend this time of year. One must this year for me is attending the Gilroy Garlic Festival! This festival is one of a kind and although I don’t think I will enjoy the garlic ice cream, I am really looking forward to this unique summer event.

What are you most excited about this summer?! What is on your summer bucket list?
