I have talked about the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay before and no matter how many times I go there, I still get excited to return. Besides the stunning views and relaxing fire pits, the food and service is excellent, and you are welcomed the minute you drive on the property.
I enjoy sitting on the Ocean Terrace facing the water, cozying up with their warm blankets near a fire pit. Some people read, some enjoy good conversation with friends, and some just sit in peace. It is usually windy there and you should wear layers. I have yet to find another spot in Half Moon Bay that compares. If you prefer to sit inside, the Conservatory Lounge also offers beautiful views and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lunch or dinner, I would recommend the Pappardelle Bolognese. It is delicious and a generous portion size.
My husband still has yet to play golf there, but that could make a great gift for him this year. We also think a night or two at this hotel would be a great place to celebrate an anniversary or special birthday. Some rooms even have their own private patios with fire pits to enjoy S’mores in your bath robes.
We have family coming to visit in September and we plan to spend an evening there on the patio and then a leisurely dinner.
Do you have a favorite spot along the California coast?!
