Here we are in late October. Have you done some of your favorite fall activities this month yet? This is your last weekend before you hit the Halloween costume crunch, so enjoy these October days filled with pumpkin picking, fall leaves, and cooler weather.
If I was able to really enjoy a weekend exploring, here are my ideas for a great fall weekend:
1. Plan for Halloween! – Get your creative juices flowing and finalize your Halloween costumes for you and your family. Maybe plan a gathering for neighbors or family to help with any last minute Halloween decorations or a pumpkin carving party. Have a speciality cocktail or mocktails, festive snacks and treats, and put on a your favorite Halloween tunes for a low-key evening before Halloween is even here!
2. Go Apple Picking – Apple season here is end of August through October, so you still have time to go with family or friends to an orchard. I heard great thing about a few apple farms and ranches out here and can’t imagine all the fields of apple trees. I love picking apples and then going home to make apple crumble and pies. There is something so wonderful about taking home a bushel of apples you picked.
3. Sunday Morning Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pancakes! – Oh wait, this is one fall favorite I can partake in! My husband has become a pro at the Sunday morning pancake breakfast for his pregnant wife. Turkey bacon, berries, fruit juice, and milk to round out the meal, making it more like a brunch feast, which is perfect for our Sunday morning NFL Countdown!
Have a wonderful fall weekend!
