Looking for a great pizza spot in Palo Alto? Well look no further because Pizzeria Delfina is a great spot with delicious New York and Neapolitan-style pizza. This restaurant is farmer-to-table style, family owned, and has a seasonal menu. There are three other locations, one in Burlingame and two in San Francisco.
The Palo Alto location is bright and airy, with a long and inviting bar. The real charm of this restaurant though is the patio. It was very welcoming and a decent size. This would make a great lunch spot or a nice casual dinner date location.
I ordered a Margherita pizza with housemade fennel sausage and an Insalata Tricolore salad. I really enjoyed the salad and the pizza was almost too good to share! Ha. It was a thin pizza, but cooked perfectly with delicious, toasted crust. It was not heavy, which is usually my main reason for not wanting pizza. I also appreciated that there are market vegetable side dishes, soup, and seasonal salads on the menu. I prefer to pair pizza with some healthy veggies so you don’t feel quite as guilty!
I wish I had a picture of the patio and the pizza for you, but I was so taken by the whole experience, I forgot. Take my word for it and enjoy a date night here. Just remember, this place is so popular, wait times can be long. Try to avoid the typical Friday night or weekend rush, if you are looking for a more relaxed dining experience.
