Happy Black Friday! Hope you had an eventful and filling Thanksgiving at home. I truly feel Thursday is not a day to shop; it is a day to be home with family and friends eating all day long while watching the Macy’s Day parade, movies, and football. Come early Friday morning though, time to hit the sales. I have been a Black Friday shopper since I was old enough to read a mall directory, so I am a big believer in lacing up those tennis shoes and scoring big deals. Over the years though, I have gravitated towards Cyber Monday as it is much easier and you can sleep in! However you decide to spend your day, here are my ideas for a festive weekend.
1. Enjoy National French Toast Day. Friday, November 28 is our national day to indulge in thick, delicious French Toast. Try making yours with challah and topping with cranberries and powered sugar for a little extra seasonal flair.
2. Attend a Tree Lighting or Holiday Parade. One thing I appreciate about Northern California are all the little quaint towns and their festivals. I love exploring the little downtown areas and main streets, and it seems that traditions are important here. This Sunday evening, Los Altos is having their annual Festival of Lights Parade. Make a night of it and partake in seasonal shopping and grab a mocha latte (or hot cocoa) before picking the perfect spot to watch the parade.
3. Make the List. Yes, now is the best time to make your holiday gift list for family, friends, and charities. Plan it out so you can watch for deals or order on Amazon to make it even easier on yourself. Then you will have plenty of time to kick back by the fire and watch your favorite Christmas movies!
