White Kitchen Renovation

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We continued our work on our new home this weekend. This is our kitchen currently in our new home. It is a blank space and I am so excited about our project! Coming back to see the house after demo day has given us renewed energy.

I feel so fortunate to be able to design our own kitchen. We are working with an architect and contractor, and I also have a few very talented friends that I have been able to call for advice. We are going with the beach cottage look since we are living at the beach. We want it to feel light and airy, as well as warm and welcoming.

We started with a vision board, using Pinterest and Houzz as examples. Since I do not know how to describe exactly what I like and wainscoting vs beadboard, using photos helped us better communicate with our architect and team. Our kitchen will mostly be white, with light blue and gray accents. We wanted it to be a classic beach cottage kitchen, optimizing light and open to the outside.

Even though I enjoy watching HGTV shows, I have learned so much throughout this process. Learning about the different types of cabinetry, kitchen faucets and fixtures, doors and door handles, and flooring. Some decisions were harder to make than others (and certainly kept me up at night thinking), but the process is rewarding and exciting.

We look forward to our kitchen being completed in the next few months. I cannot wait to see the finished project and will share it with you.

I want to be in the kitchen cooking and enjoying my morning coffee! Not to mention the gatherings and events I can host in my new space.
