ALT Summit Salt Lake City was an incredible experience I wanted to share with you. As a newbie to the conference, I had business card anxiety and didn’t know a single person (personally) attending. Within five minutes of day 1, I met two incredible women that made my time and experience in Salt Lake even better. Megan from Greetings from Texas walked right up to me and said hello. She was so kind, funny, and truly an inspiration. Not to mention she is so humble, despite publishing her own book! She introduced me to Eve, who is from Quebec and a lifestyle blogger; we instantly hit it off. Eve and I share a passion for food and dry humor! Our Wednesday night dinner, sponsored by La Crema Wines was one of my favorite experiences of the entire conference. We had intimate conversations about entertaining, blogging stats, great wines we love, and our lives at home. I was so fortunate to sit next to Laurel and Aida, two amazing and fashionable women. Eve and Laurel, you are welcome to visit me anytime in sunny northern California!
During the two full days of the conference, there were so many thoughtful discussions and insightful sessions on the business of blogging, trends, and branding. Both keynote speakers, the gorgeous Garance Dore and Ben Silbermann of Pinterest, spoke to us like we had known each other for years. It was like a comfortable living room conversation and they were both so witty and honest. For our last lunch of the conference, we watched a preview of No Woman, No Cry produced by Christy Turlington and her organization Every Mother Counts. This is a wonderful organization I am interested in supporting, especially as a woman.
The break rooms all had whimsical themes and were a great place to have a cup of coffee with a new friend. Thank you HomeGoods, Red Stamp, Bing, Kleenex, Cricut, and Wayfair for these great lounges! The nightly parties were outrageous and the decorations were BEYOND. There were so many talented, creative, and inspiring people at Alt Summit! I am so glad I attended ALT this year and look forward to future conferences.
